What a fantastic day all of us readers have had at Neston School celebrating the 25th anniversary of World Book Day! We’ve all brought in our favourite stories to share with our friends and brought other well-loved books to swap as well. Many of us dressed up cosily in our pjs or as our favourite characters - we had all sorts including Jemima Puddleduck, Mr Bump, Mrs Trunchbull, Hermione Grainger, Tigger and Eyeore! Some of us participated in the BBC WBD Live Lesson, others were creating collaborative colouring displays and all of us listened to wonderful stories.
The following are 6 elements that will continue to support our reading for pleasure at home:
Being read to regularly
Access to books
The ability to choose what we want to read
Having trusted adults and peers sharing and recommending books
The reading experience being enjoyable
Designated time to read
