A massive well done and congratulations to all the children in Beech class who have completed their KS2 SATs week. All staff in the school are incredibly proud of how hard you have worked and the perseverance, determination and resilience you have shown this week has been amazing! After some celebratory bacon rolls this morning, it's back to the class for some hard work!

Anti-Bullying Presentation with CLT

Added on by Chloe Turner.

During Snack and Story in Beech class this morning, three members of the CLT (Children's Leadership Team) gave a fantastic presentation on anti-bullying. The children talked about the work CLT have been doing to tackle bullying and discussed strategies to stop bullying with the children in Year 6. All children said this presentation was very well put together (they only had half a days notice!) and delivered, and how useful the information was.

Averages...

Added on by Chloe Turner.

This morning in Beech we worked in learning partners to find out different 'averages'. Children found out 'the average time children in Beech class spend on electronic devices/reading/playing outside/playing video games...'. Miss Turner was impressed by how well the children approached this activity, they worked well with their partners and as a whole class, showing great problem solving skills! Well done Year 6!

In Beech we have spent the morning working in groups to solve difficult word problems involving fractions. Each child has shown great perseverance and problem solving skills. As a class we have shown Miss Turner and Mrs Monelle how well we can all work together - they were very impressed!

Would you try some if stranded on an island?

Others set up long term solutions...

Throughout the morning, everybody's methods improved and it was definitely a challenge for all. Well done Beech and Maple!

The children applied their science skills and knowledge really well and came up a wide range of solutions.

Last Friday Beech and Maple classes came one step closer to being able to survive on a deserted island with only muddy water to drink. Based on their science learning this term, they all invented water filters that would (hopefully) give them clean water to drink!
