We had an amazing time at Roves Farm.

Boys build a house
Connor and Harry W. Build themselves a house to sleep in. They challenged Mrs Phillips to crawl in....... She was too long and they couldn't shut the door.

We used a metre stick To see which model was the longest.
Twe recorded our findings on a white board. Rufus had the widest model.

The First Butterflies
Willow, Oak and Chestnut classes each have a butterfly garden in our classrooms. This is becoming a lovely summer tradition and fits really well with our theme of survival. We received the baby caterpillars just over a fortnight ago and have been tracking their growth. The first two have come out of their chrysalides within the last 24 hours and both are in Chestnut!

We worked together to build our inside den, we used chairs to make a home, we used pegs to keep the sheet up.
Engineering and Team Work
Rufus was a resilient learner, putting the bamboo chutes together and testing until the ball would roll all the way to the end.
Some amazing teamwork went on in order to create this long chute.

These resilient chaps are making long number lines. What number will they get up to?
Chick News
The chicks are getting bigger by the minute. Yellow chick weighs 70 marbles today. That is more than 3 times more than he or she weighed 2 weeks ago!
They will be off on their holidays with Frankie today. How big will they be when we come back to school?
Will the children have grown as much as the chicks?
Chick Weighing Time
We use our mini marbles to weigh the yellow chick. On Friday 8th May, chick weighed 21 marbles. On Friday 15th it was 43 marbles. Today (Tuesday 19th) the chick weighs 60 marbles.
What a good job the children in Willow don't grow that fast...
