A great start to Neston’s sporting year!

Added on by Maple.

Well done to all the active children in Maple and Beech who are taking part in Level 2 competitions. On 25.09.14 we had a squad of 10 keen and committed footballers play 3 matches against other schools in our cluster at Corsham School. Another squad will take part in more exciting matches on 2.10.14. We had 9 girls take part in a cricket festival on 29.09.14 at the Dome in Chippenham and they won 2 of their 3 matches. They are already looking forward to taking their impressive batting, bowling and fielding skills to the all-girls summer festival! And last but not least, 10 Y3/4 children will be donning gum shields and shin pads on 9.10.14 when they play in a hockey festival on the astro turf at Corsham School.

Bikes & Scooters

Added on by Betsy Huggins.

Can we please ask parents/carers of children who come to school on their bikes/scooters etc; that children must dismount before entering the school premises.

Please make sure your child does so and help us to keep our children safe at all times.

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Welcome Back

Added on by Pam Evans.

Welcome back to everyone and the start of a new school year. It is lovely to see everyone looking well rested and excited about the term ahead.  This term our whole school topic is "Long ago and far away".  You will be able to find out more information at our "Meet the Teacher" events over the next few weeks.  The first four weeks of term will see our new reception children settling in to class and building up to being in school full time. We are also looking to extend our chicken run as our chickens have really grown over the summer break and are in need of an extension!

The Yellow Team - Double Winners 2014

Added on by Chestnut.

The Yellow team completed a sporting double by triumphing in the Cricket Tournament that took place Friday morning, following their success at Sports Day only a few weeks ago

Another fabulously sunny day provided perfect weather for the event which was again expertly organised by Miss Sims and umpired by Miss Sims and Ms Fallon, with support from numerous TAs. Children from years 3 through to 6 represented their teams in matches against each other. The games were played with 4 batters on the field at one time, in order to increase the participation of multiple players - rather than the traditional two batters we would normally expect.

Neston's Stunning Performance at the Bath Forum

Added on by Chestnut.

On Tuesday 17th June, at 1 pm, around 30 of Neston's finest voices boarded the coach to take them to the Forum Theatre, in Bath. As part of the Corsham Cluster, they were performing in the 'Happy Hour' Concert - sharing and celebrating the feeling of joy. Neston were joined by Box, Colerne, Lypiatt, Saint Patrick's and Corsham Regis.

After sound checks, and a rehearsal on stage to give everyone a taste of the experience, a mix of excitement and nerves swirled around the curved ceiling of the former cinema. There was a wonderful range of performances and songs across the cluster, each school taking the theme in a slightly different direction.

At 4pm, relatives began filling up the remaining seats and the atmosphere was buzzing in anticipation of what was coming. Neston sang 'Let it Go' from the critically acclaimed film Frozen with power and passion, and as the song headed into the climax, the children seemed to grow in confidence and powerfully delivered a spine-tingling, goose bump inducing, performance that made everybody proud. What a team! Here is the end of the performance...
